God's Guidance
Bible Reading: Psalm 1:1-6
Thursday, May 28, 2015

God's Guidance My elderly relative has a car that keeps breaking down. She won't buy a different car because God has not told her to get a new car. My friend is being laid off his job and won't look for another job until God tells him to look for a job.
Sometimes people refuse to do something. They say that God has not spoken to them and told them to do that thing. But God has never promised He will give us clear answers to every question we ask Him. He often expects us to read the Bible and apply His message to our lives.
The writer of Psalm 1 reminds us that we need to read and study God's Word. If we do that, we will be spiritually strong. God's Word will guide us and help us make wise decisions.
Maybe you are struggling with a problem and don't know the answer. Pray and ask God to help you. Then use His Word to guide you and show you how to serve Him. —BL
“...they love the Lord's teachings and think about them day and night. So they grow strong, like a tree planted by a stream — a tree that produces fruit when it should has leaves that never fall.” Psalm 1:2b-3
PRAYER: Dear God, please guide me through Your Word. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Proverbs (2)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 2:1-11
Thursday, October 23, 2014

Proverbs (2) We read about people who have made bad choices in their lives. We may wonder, “Why did that person break the law? He knew he would go to jail” or “Why did she trust that bad man who said he loved her?” People often make wrong choices because doing the wrong thing looks good to them at the time.
Solomon encourages us in verse 9 of our Bible verses to always do what is right. “If you listen to him, you will understand what is just and fair and how to do what is right.” Does that mean that God never wants us to have any fun? No, it means that God wants to protect us. He wants us to not make bad choices and suffer the consequences.
Think about the choices you may have to make today. Ask God to give you wisdom to help you make the right choices. —KP
“The Lord is the source of wisdom; knowledge and understanding come from his mouth. He gives good advice to honest people and shields those who do what is right.” Proverbs 2:6-7
PRAYER: Lord, Your ways are always good and right. Thank You for Your protection. Guide me to make right choices today. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Which Way?
Bible Reading: Psalm 119:33-40
Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Which Way? Sometimes a farmer will set up a maze built out of hay bales. Then he will invite neighborhood children to find their way through the maze.
Some mazes are simple and only need a few turns to get through them. But others are difficult to maneuver through. As children go through the maze, they try to remember the dead ends and get out of the maze as fast as they can.
Life is like a maze with many choices along the way. When we make wrong decisions, we may end up at a “dead end.” Then we become confused and frustrated. So it is important that we use God’s Word, the Bible, to help us make the right choices in life. That’s where we can read God’s commands. Verse 35 of our Bible Reading says, “Help me follow your commands, because that’s what makes me happy.”
Let God’s Word help you make right choices and show you which way to go in your life. —BL
“Lord, you do what is right, and your decisions are fair. The rules you have given us are right. We can trust them completely.” Psalm 119:137-138
PRAYER: God, teach me to rely on Your Word to help me make right choices. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Decisions
Bible Reading: Psalm 86:1-17
Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Decisions We all have decisions to make every day. We decide what clothes we will wear or what we will eat for breakfast. We also face important decisions like buying a house or choosing the person we will marry.
When I was growing up, my parents let me make many decisions myself. They would say, “It’s up to you, Cindy. It’s your decision.” Sometimes I enjoyed this freedom, but other times it was hard because my parents did not give me any advice about these decisions.
That’s why I was happy when I read verse 11 of Psalm 86. “Lord, teach me your ways, and I will live and obey your truths.” God doesn’t just leave me alone to make decisions. He is willing to guide me and teach me how to live.
God will teach and lead you, too. Give Him your life, praise and worship Him, and let Him guide you. I hope you will decide to follow God today. —CC
“My Lord, I put my life in your hands. I am your servant, so make me happy. My Lord, you are good and merciful. You love all those who call to you for help.” Psalm 86:4-5
PRAYER: Father, thank You for being willing to teach me and guide me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
