倚靠上帝

　有些人不喜歡接受別人的幫助，認為倚靠別人是軟弱的表現，他們甚至在需要幫助時也拒絕請求協助。
身為基督徒，我們需要倚靠上帝，唯有祂不會讓我們失望或難過。今天經文閱讀的第5節提醒我們「要專心信賴上主，不可倚靠自己的聰明。」這節經文讓我們學到什麼是該做的事、什麼是不該做的事。
首先，我們每天都要倚靠上帝，我們可以永遠信靠祂的幫助。上帝愛我們，希望把最好的賞賜給我們，祂會在大事上都幫助我們，也會在小事上幫助我們。其次，我們不可倚靠自己的聰明。有時候我自認該做的事卻是錯的，上帝知道祂對我一生的完整計畫，這也是為什麼我們要完全倚靠祂的原因。

Some people do not want anyone’s help. These people think that depending on someone else shows that they are weak. They refuse to ask for help, even when they need it.
As Christians, we need to depend on God. He is the only one who will never fail us or let us down. Verse 5 of our Bible Reading today reminds us of this. “Trust the Lord completely, and don't depend on your own knowledge.” In this verse we learn something that we should do and something that we should not do.
First, we should depend on God every day. We can always trust Him to help us. God loves us and wants what is best for us. He will help us with our big problems and with our small problems. Second, we should not depend on our own knowledge. Sometimes what I think I should do is wrong. God knows His whole plan for our lives. That's why we should completely depend on Him.

　在今天的經文閱讀中，我們讀到了雅各的故事。雅各深愛蕾潔，他答應蕾潔的父親拉班為他做七年工，然後拉班就讓雅各娶蕾潔為妻。
但是拉班欺騙了雅各，他反而把大女兒麗亞交給雅各，拉班跟雅各說：「如果你願意再替我做七年工，等一週的新婚慶典過後，我再把蕾潔給你」（第27節），雅各忠心地為拉班做了十四年工才娶到蕾潔。上帝賞賜給雅各許多兒女和財產，很多年以後，耶穌就從雅各的家族中誕生。
每個人在生活中都會經歷苦難，但無論我們遭遇什麼事，都要永遠對上帝忠心。有時候魔鬼會引誘我們違背上帝，但我們要定睛在上帝和祂的話語上。

In our Bible verses for today, we read about Jacob. Jacob loved Rachel. He promised Rachel's father, Laban, that he would work for him for seven years. Then Laban would let Jacob marry Rachel.
But Laban tricked Jacob. He gave Jacob his older daughter, Leah, instead. Laban told Jacob, “Continue for the full week of the marriage ceremony, and I will also give you Rachel to marry. But you must serve me another seven years” (verse 27). Jacob worked faithfully for Laban for fourteen years so that he could marry Rachel. God blessed Jacob with many children and possessions. Many years later, Jesus was born from Jacob’s family line.
All of us go through some hard times in our lives. But no matter what we face, we should always stay faithful to God. Sometimes the devil will tempt us to disobey God. But we should keep focused on God and His Word.
God will be with you today to help you stay faithful to Him! —PD*

當你奉獻給上帝時就有祝福！首先，上帝使用你的禮物擴張祂的國度，在我們居住的世界中，作上帝的工是需要花錢的。保羅在世時，他的事工是由許多不同的教會支持，當保羅在帖撒羅尼迦宣教時，腓立比教會將奉獻送去給保羅（腓立比書4:15-16），當保羅在哥林多宣教時也是由腓立比信徒資助（哥林多後書11:9）。建造教堂、差派宣教士、印刷聖經，照顧窮人、寡婦、孤兒都需要使用金錢。
其次，上帝使用你的奉獻幫助你在祂裡面成長，要記得上帝擁有一切，當你奉獻給上帝和別人時，你就會越來越像上帝和祂的性格。
不要勉強自己奉獻，而要甘心樂意奉獻！奉獻是因為上帝已經賞賜你！奉獻是因為你想要看見祂的國度擴張，是因為你很渴慕在靈裡成長！ —CPE*

　There are blessings when you give to God! First, God uses your gifts to expand His kingdom. In this world we live in, it takes money to do God's work. Paul's work was supported by different churches during his time on earth. The church in Philippi sent offerings to Paul while he ministered in Thessalonica (Philippians 4:15-16). Also, the Philippians supported Paul while he preached in Corinth (2 Corinthians 11:9). It takes money to build church buildings, send missionaries, print Bibles and care for the poor, widows and orphans.
Second, God uses your gifts to help you grow in Him. Remember that God owns everything. When you give to God and others you become more and more like God and His character.
Don't give because you have to. Give because you want to! Give because of what God has given to you! Give because you want to see His kingdom expand and because you truly desire to grow spiritually! —CPE*

　要了解賞賜或奉獻的另一件重要的事是，每一個基督徒都是管家，管家就是負責看管並別人財產的人，每一個基督徒都要作上帝的管家，管理上帝賞賜給我們的事物。
今天閱讀的經文中，耶穌說了一個關於三個僕人的寓言。這些僕人都被交託管理幾袋錢，第一個僕人收到了五袋錢，另外一個僕人收到兩袋錢，第三個僕人收到了一袋錢。前面兩個僕人用拿到的錢去投資並賺了更多的錢，而第三個僕人並沒有投資他的錢。前兩個僕人因為善用他們的錢去做一些事而得到獎賞，第三個僕人則因為沒有好好管理錢財、做好管家的工作而遭受懲罰。
許多基督徒認為錢是自己的，他們是把自己的錢奉獻給上帝，其實不是這樣，我們必須明白所有一切都屬於上帝，是祂賜給我們機會去回報祂。

Another important thing to remember about giving is that every Christian is a steward. A steward is one who oversees and takes care of another’s property. Every Christian is to be a steward of what God has given us.
In our Bible reading, Jesus told a parable about three servants. The servants were given bags of money. One servant received five bags. Another servant received two bags. The third servant received one bag. The first two servants invested their money and earned more money. The third servant did not invest his money. The first two servants were rewarded for doing something with their money. The third servant was punished for not being a good steward of the money he was given.
Many Christians think that money is theirs and they are giving their money to God. Instead we need to understand that everything belongs to God, and He gives us opportunities to give back to Him.
Let’s use what God gives us to please and honor Him! —CPE*

有一些東西在舊約和新約聖經都明確指出是屬於上帝的：土地──在利未記25:23，上帝告訴以色列人：「你們不可把土地賣斷，因為土地是我的；你們不過像外僑蒙准使用土地罷了。」河流──上帝在以西結29:9b說：「因為你說尼羅河是你的，是你造的。」金和銀──在哈該書2:8a，上帝宣告：「世上所有的金銀都是我的。」我們的身體──保羅在哥林多前書6:19-20寫說：「你們不知道你們的身體就是聖靈的殿嗎？這聖靈住在你們裡面，是上帝所賜的。你們不屬於自己，而是屬於上帝。」

　In this devotion and the next few devotions, we will look at what the Bible says about giving. The first important thing to understand about giving is that God owns everything. God says in Psalm 50:12b, “I already own the world and everything in it.”
Here are some specific things that both the Old and New Testaments say belong to God: Land — in Leviticus 25:23, God told the Israelites, “The land really belongs to me, so you cannot sell it permanently. You are foreigners and travelers living on my land with me.” Rivers — in Ezekiel 29:9b, God said, “This is my river. I made this river.” Silver and gold — in Haggai 2:8a, God declared, “All their silver really belongs to me! And all the gold is mine!” Our bodies — Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, “You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don't own yourselves. God paid a very high price to make you his. So honor God with your body.”
