God's Plan
Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29:11-14
Saturday, September 24, 2016

A road that I often travel was under construction for a long time. While they were working on the road, I would watch their progress. Sometimes I thought that the road builder must be very confused!
Finally the construction was completed. Then I could see that the builder had a good plan. The way he had built the road made traveling much easier than before.
Sometimes I look at things happening in my life, and they seem to be a total mess — just like the road. I know that God has a plan for my life, but I do not understand how He will work everything out. Our Bible verses today remind us that God’s plan is to give us “hope and a good future” (verse 11b).
Now that I am older, I can look back and see how God has worked in my life. He has led me through some tough times and always shown me His love. God has a plan for your life, too. Ask God to show you His plan. —NM

“We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. These are the people God chose, because that was his plan.” Romans 8:28
PRAYER: Father, show me Your plan for my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Birth Story (9)
Bible Reading: Luke 22:66-71
Sunday, December 20, 2015

What was the most amazing thing that ever happened in Bethlehem? Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born. The all-powerful, all-knowing Son of God came to earth as a helpless human baby.
Many people around the world believe that a baby named Jesus was born on that first Christmas. They believe that the baby grew up to be a man, a carpenter and a teacher. But some of these people believe that Jesus was only a good man, a good teacher or a good prophet. They do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
Our Bible Reading tells us about Jesus' arrest and His trial before the Jewish leaders. These men asked Jesus, “‘Then are you the Son of God?’ Jesus said to them, ‘You are right in saying that I am’” (verse 70b). Jesus clearly said that He is the Son of God! I believe that Jesus is truly God's Son. I hope you believe that, too. —GT

“But these are written so that you can believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. Then, by believing, you can have life through his name.” John 20:31
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die and save me from my sin. In His name. Amen.

—JKS

Workers for God
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:4-9
Tuesday, June 11 2013

Workers for God I was raised on a farm, and I still enjoy gardening. It is fun to see how God can take the tiny seeds I plant and turn those seeds into flowers, vegetables and fruit.
Jesus and His followers used stories about farming to teach important truths about the Christian life. Our Bible Reading today is one example. In these verses, Paul scolded the believers in Corinth because they were arguing about church leaders. Paul reminded the Christians that one believer is not more important than another believer. Every Christian has a job to do in God’s harvest field. It doesn’t matter what the job is — we should do what God asks us to do.
Do you feel discouraged when you share the Good News about Jesus with someone and don’t see results? Remember today’s Bible verses. Our job is to plant the seed of God’s Word or water the seed that someone else has planted. Then the Holy Spirit will work in their hearts and cause these seeds to grow. —JKS
“So the one who plants is not important, and the one who waters is not important. Only God is important, because he is the one who makes things grow.”1 Corinthians 3:7
PRAYER: God, help me to plant and water and then trust You for the results. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
