為什麼要感謝上帝？

　今天的讀的經文是摩西和以色列民對上帝唱的一首歌，第2節說：「上主是我堅強的保護者；他拯救了我。他是我的上帝，我要頌讚他。」唱這首歌是摩西和以色列民感謝上帝賜下很多祝福的方式之一。
我們有很多原因要感謝上帝，讓我們來看一些在聖經裡可以讀到的原因。約伯記36:26跟我們說：「上帝多麼偉大」；彼得後書3:9說：「他寬容你們」；羅馬書5:8提醒我們：「但是上帝對我們顯示了無比的愛：當我們還是罪人的時候，基督已經為我們死了！」哇！上帝是偉大的，祂是寛容人的，而且祂愛我們。
我們感謝上帝最大的原因之一是祂赦免了我們。約翰一書1:9說：「如果我們向上帝認罪，他是信實公義的，他要赦免我們的罪，洗淨我們所犯的各種過錯。」
今天就花時慶祝並感謝上帝，然後去告訴其他人上帝為你做了什麼事。 —GT

　Today's Bible Reading is a song that Moses and the Israelites sang to God. Verse 2 says, “The Lord is my strength. He saves me, and I sing songs of praise to him.” This song was a way for Moses and the people to thank God for His many blessings.
There are many reasons why we should thank God. Let's look at a few reasons that we can read in the Bible. Job 36:26 tells us, “Yes, God is great.” 2 Peter 3:9 says that “God is patient” with us. Romans 5:8 reminds us that “Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us.” Wow! God is great, He is patient and He loves us.
One of the greatest reasons why we should thank God is because He forgives us. 1 John 1:9 says, “But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done.”
Take time to celebrate and thank God today. Then tell other people what God has done for you. —GT

今天聖經閱讀的第1節說：「諸天宣佈上帝的榮耀；穹蒼傳揚他的作為。」能夠知道自然界的一切事物都在訴說上帝是多麼偉大，真是很棒的事。 　我可以想像這詩篇的作者正看著天空，仰望天空讓他感到平靜和快樂。雖然太陽、月亮、雲、和星星並不能像人一樣說話，但是它們仍然向他傳達上帝是大有能力並且滿有智慧的信息。 　也許你可以花一些時間看看天空。你可以遠離城市的燈光，看看美麗的夕陽或是在夜空中閃爍的星星，想一想每天太陽是如何從東邊升起、從西邊落下。要記得，是上帝成就了這所有一切的事物，所以我們才能有一個秩序井然又美麗的世界。 　因著上帝奇妙的創造而讓我們知道祂的莊嚴和偉大，我們要感謝祂。—IMJ 「無言無語，無音無響。然而，它們的音訊傳遍人間；它們的言語遠達天涯。」 詩篇19:3-4a 禱告：天父，感謝祢為我創造的一切。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (CCS譯/台南聖教會英語團契)

God’s Greatness

Verse 1 of our Bible Reading says, “The heavens tell about the glory of God. The skies announce what his hands have made.” It is neat to realize that things in nature tell us about how great God is. 　I can imagine the writer of this psalm looking at the sky. Watching the heavens makes him feel calm and happy. Although the sun, moon, clouds and stars do not speak like people do, they still communicate to him that God is powerful and wise. 　Maybe you can take some time to look at the sky. Get away from the lights of the city. Watch a beautiful sunset or the twinkling stars in the night sky. Think about how every day the sun comes up in the east and sets in the west. Remember that God does all these things so we can have a world that is orderly and beautiful. 　Thank God for His wonderful creation that shows us His majesty and greatness. —IMJ “You cannot hear them say anything. 小時候，在晴朗的夜晚，家人會坐在戶外觀賞星星和月亮，同時我們也會談論上帝的偉大。 　很多年以後，在1969年，阿波羅11號登陸月球，那時太空人在月球上留下了一個小圓盤，上面寫了一些話，其中一部分是詩篇第8篇裡的內容。 　詩篇第8篇是很久以前寫下來的，這詩篇的作者一定有像我小時候那樣看著星星和月亮，第3節說：「我仰視你親手創造的天空，觀看你陳設的月亮星辰。」上帝在乎人們並且將所有的創造交給人來管理，這讓作者感到非常驚訝，第5-6節說：「然而，你造他僅低於你自己；你用光榮尊貴作他的華冠。你讓他管理所有被造物，把一切都放在他腳下」。 　你要趕快花一些時間，看看夜晚的天空；你要敬拜上帝並思想祂的偉大。—AS 「啊，人算甚麼，你竟顧念他！必朽的人算甚麼，你竟關懷他！」 詩篇8:4 禱告：上帝，謝謝祢創造了這美麗的世界。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (SSL譯/台南聖教會英語團契)

God’s Greatness

When I was young, my family would sit outside on clear nights. We would look at the stars and the moon. We talked about God’s greatness. 　Several years later, in 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the moon. The astronauts left a disc on the moon. This disc has a message on it. Part of the message is the verses from Psalm 8. 　Psalm 8 was written a long time ago. The writer of this psalm must have looked at the stars and the moon like I did when I was a child. Verse 3 says, “I look at the heavens you made with your hands. I see the moon and the stars you created.” This writer was amazed that God cared about people and that He put them in charge of creation. “But you made them [people] like gods and crowned them with glory and honor. You put them in charge of everything you made” (verses 5-6a). 　Take some time soon and look up at the night sky. Worship God and think about His greatness. —AS “...I wonder, ‘Why are people so important to you? Why do you even think about them? Why do you care so much about humans? Why do you even notice them?’” Psalm 8:4 PRAYER: God, thank You for the beautiful world You created. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
