Bible Reading: Acts 9:1-2
Friday, July 4, 2014

Women in Acts (4) Saul did not believe that Jesus was God’s Son. So Saul did bad things to Christians. This is called persecution. Later, Saul realized that he was wrong. He was baptized and became a great preacher for Jesus.
Our Bible verses today are about the time before Saul became a Christian. Saul told Christians he would kill them. He planned to go to the city of Damascus. Verse 2a says that the Jewish high priest gave Saul “the authority to find people in Damascus who were followers” of Jesus.
The last part of verse 2 says, “If he found any believers there, men or women, he would arrest them and bring them back to Jerusalem.” Saul didn’t just persecute Christian men. He also persecuted Christian women!
People persecute Christians today, too. You should be ready to experience bad things because you are a Christian. Stand strong for God and His Word. —JK
“On that day the Jews began to persecute the church in Jerusalem, making them suffer very much. Saul was also trying to destroy the group. He went into their houses, dragged out men and women, and put them in jail.” Acts 8:2-3a
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I want to always stand strong for You and Your Word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
