小時候，我很愛騎腳踏車，暑假時，我會參加騎車比賽，那真是有趣！我記得我的腳踏車有踏板和鍊條，有時候，不管我怎麼用力踩，腳踏車就是不會動！為什麼呢？因為腳踏車的鍊條脫落了。這時，我會修理腳踏車，把脫落的鍊條裝回去，這樣，當我踩踏板的時候，腳踏車就會動了。 信心和順服也是這樣，你不能只有其中一個而沒有另外一個。信心是經由順服表現出來的，而我們順服上帝是因為我們對祂有信心。雅各書2:17說：「同樣，信心沒有行為就是死的。」如果你的信心沒有伴隨著順服，那麼就好像我的腳踏車沒有鍊條帶動一樣，是不會動的。 要對上帝有信心並且順服！然後你將會在祂裡面成長，並且經歷祂的祝福 —CPE* 「藉著他，我得到特別恩賜，為他的名作使徒，來帶領各國的人信從他。」 羅馬書1:5
禱告：親愛的上帝，我願對你有信心並且順服祢。奉耶穌的名，阿們！

Faith and Obedience

When I was a boy, I loved to ride my bicycle. I competed in bicycle races during the summer. It was a lot of fun! I remember that my bicycle had pedals and chains. Sometimes I pushed hard with my legs and feet. But the bicycle would not move! Why? Because the chain had come off. So I fixed the chain and attached it to the pedals. Then my bicycle moved when I pushed on the pedals. It is the same way with faith and obedience. You can’t have one without the other. Faith is shown through obedience. We obey God because we have faith in Him. James 2:17 says, “It is the same with faith. If it is just faith and nothing more — if it doesn’t do anything — it is dead.” If you do not have obedience with faith, then you are like my bicycle without chains — something that does not move. Be faithful and obedient to God! Then you will grow in Him and experience His blessings. —CPE* “Through Christ, God gave me the special work of an apostle — to lead people of all nations to believe and obey him. I do all this to honor Christ.” Romans 1:5
PRAYER: Dear God, I want to have faith in You and obey You. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
