—DK/VLD

Bible Reading: Acts 20:7-12
Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Missionaries (6) Our Bible verses for today tell us something strange that happened when Christians were meeting together to hear Paul preach.
In our travels, we have visited many different kinds of church meetings. Many churches in Ukraine had no heat or water. Sometimes we had to wear our coats during the church service.
Other churches we visited had no electricity or glass in the windows. We met in a few churches that had only one light bulb. And one time we met in a small apartment to worship. Why? Because in that country it was illegal to worship God.
Often we traveled a long way to get to church. We walked or rode in trains, subways, buses or cars. One time we went to church by boat!
The places where Christians meet are not important. It is important that Christians meet together to worship God and to encourage each other. Thank God for the people who worship with you. —DK/VLD
“‘On Sunday we met together to eat the Lord’s Supper. Paul talked to the group...he continued talking until midnight.” Acts 20:7
PRAYER: God, thank You that we can meet together and worship You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
