Bible Reading: Genesis 5:21-32
Sunday, November 9, 2014

Walking (2) Our Bible verses today list some of Noah’s ancestors (father, grandfather, great-grandfather, etc.). Not much information is given about each man except his name and how many years he lived. But there are several verses about Enoch. Genesis 5:24 says, “One day Enoch was walking with God, and he disappeared. God took him.”
This verse tells us that Enoch walked with God. Maybe Enoch really walked with God like Adam and Eve did in the garden. We do not know for sure. Some Bible translations say, “Enoch pleased God.” Enoch must have been a very good man. And, he must have had a close relationship with God. Enoch did not have to face death. God just took him from the earth.
If we obey God, He will be pleased with us. But before we can obey God, we need to know what He wants us to do. We can learn this by reading the Bible. Take time today to look at ways you can please God. Praise Him, pray to Him and share His love with people you meet. —JK
“When people live to please the Lord, even their enemies will be at peace with them.” Proverbs 16:7
PRAYER: Father, I want to be close to You and please You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
