目標

最近我的神經系統受了傷，讓我感到很疼痛。現在我好一點了，我感恩可以每天都出去散步。 　今天當我在散步時候，我注意到一個女人正走向她的信箱。她得了關節炎已經好幾年了，我可以看得出來她走路的時候很痛苦。但是，她並沒有放棄，她走到那個信箱，然後又折返回家。我的痛苦從來都只是暫時，但是她的痛苦似乎是永久的。 　保羅在他的基督徒生命中面對了許多的問題。他被毒打、遇到海難、還有被下到監獄中，但是在我們今天的聖經閱讀中，保羅談到他服事上帝，以及與祂永遠同住的目標。保羅並沒有放棄，他持續不斷地服事並遵從上帝。 　也許今天你正和一個問題爭戰當中，就學像保羅，每天朝著服事上帝的目標作工，並且記得你並不孤單，上帝會與你同在。 —NM 「這不是說我已經成功，或已經完全了。我繼續奔跑，只求贏得那獎賞；其實，為要使我達到這目標，基督耶穌已經先贏得了我。」 詩篇81:11-12 禱告：親愛的上帝，我願像保羅那樣服事祢。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (EHI譯/台南聖教會英語團契)

The Goal

Recently I had a pinched nerve, and I was in a lot of pain. I am better now, and I am thankful that I can go for a walk every day. 　As I was walking today, I noticed a woman who was walking to her mailbox. She has had arthritis for many years. I could see that she was in pain as she walked, but she didn’t give up. She walked to the mailbox and back. My pain had been temporary, but her pain seems to be permanent. 　Paul faced many problems in his Christian life. He was beaten, shipwrecked, and imprisoned. But in our Bible Reading today, Paul talks about his goal of serving God and living forever with Him. Paul did not give up. He continued to serve and obey God. 　Maybe you are struggling with a problem today. Be like Paul and work toward the goal of serving God every day. And remember that you are not alone. God will be with you. —NM “I don’t mean that I am exactly what God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal. But I continue trying to reach it and make it mine.
