—ECW

Christian Love
Bible Reading: Philemon 1:1-25
Monday, November 11, 2013

Christian Love Philemon is a short book in the New Testament. It is a letter that Paul wrote to a Christian named Philemon.
Philemon’s slave, Onesimus, ran away. Paul met Onesimus, and Paul said in verse 10, “He became my son while I was in prison.” Paul wrote this letter to Philemon to ask him to show love to Onesimus and accept him back. “If you accept me as your friend, then accept Onesimus back. Welcome him like you would welcome me” (verse 17).
Philemon had helped Paul and shown love to many Christians. So Paul asked Philemon to love Onesimus, even though he had run away. That’s what Christian love is all about — loving people even though they may not deserve our love.
Think about the people in your life. Is there someone who needs your love and forgiveness? Reach out to that person today. Love them like God loves us. —ECW
“My brother, you have shown love to God’s people, and your help has greatly encouraged them. What a great joy and encouragement that has been to me.” Philemon 1:7
PRAYER: Dear God, I will show Your love to other people today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
