Hope is Persistent
Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 4:1-18
Friday, August 30, 2013

Hope is Persistent Paul was faithful to God. And Paul was persistent — He kept doing what God wanted him to do. Through his life, Paul faced beatings, prison and other hardships. But Paul looked forward to his prize — life in heaven with God.
Why did Paul have the courage to keep on serving God? Paul had hope. In verse 17a of our Bible Reading today, Paul said, “But the Lord stayed with me. The Lord gave me strength so that I could tell the Good News everywhere.” God was always with Paul. This gave Paul hope. So he didn’t give up, even when bad things happened to him.
Sometimes life can be difficult. Bad things may happen to us. But we should not let bad things stop us from following God. We need to remember that God is always with us. This will give us hope to keep on serving Him through good times and bad times. —GT
“The Lord will save me when anyone tries to hurt me. He will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Glory forever and ever be the Lord’s. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:18
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You for never giving up on me. I want to always be faithful to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
