Body of Christ
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Body of Christ In our Bible Reading today Paul talks about the church. He calls the church the “body of Christ” (verse 27). Ephesians 5:23 tells us that Christ is the head of the church. Christ is the head, and Christians are the body.
The Greek word ekklessia, which is translated “church,” means a group of people who are called for a special purpose. The church is not a building. The church is a group of people who follow and serve God.
In the book of Acts we read about the early church. These people did not meet in fancy buildings. They worshiped God in homes, in the marketplace, near the river or even in jail. Today we have many nice church buildings where we can meet to worship God. But as the body of Christ, we can worship God anywhere, and we should worship Him every day.
Wherever you are today — at work, at home, at school, at the mall — worship God. Praise God and thank Him for what He has done. —RK*
“God put the parts in the body as he wanted them. He made a place for each one. So there are many parts, but only one body.”1 Corinthians 12:19b-20
PRAYER: Father, I want to worship and praise You today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
