今天的經文告訴我們耶穌降生在伯利恆之後發生的事情。耶穌誕生後的第八天，馬利亞和約瑟帶祂到耶路撒冷的聖殿，他們「帶小孩子上耶路撒冷去，要把他奉獻給主」（第22b節）。為什麼馬利亞和約瑟要這麼做呢？第22節告訴我們，他們是在遵守摩西律法的規定。上帝賜下這些律法給祂的子民，為要使他們可以過更好的生活。馬利亞和約瑟願意遵守上帝的律法。 上帝希望基督徒也這樣順服祂。我們可以閱讀新約聖經來知道上帝希望我們做的事。在馬太福音22:37，耶穌說：「你要全心、全情、全意愛主─你的上帝。」在腓立比書4:6，保羅說：「你們應該一無掛慮；要在禱告中把你們所需要的告訴上帝，用感謝的心祈求。」如果我們這麼做，就是在順服上帝。 馬利亞順服上帝，我希望你也願意順服上帝。 －JK 「約瑟和馬利亞按照主的法律履行了一切所規定的事，就回加利利，到他們的本鄉拿撒勒去。」 路加福音2:39

Our Bible Reading today tells us about what happened after Jesus was born in Bethlehem. When Jesus was eight days old, Mary and Joseph took Him to the temple in Jerusalem. “They brought Jesus to Jerusalem so that they could present him to the Lord” (verse 22b). Why did Mary and Joseph do this? Verse 22 tells us that they were obeying the Law of Moses. God gave these laws to His people so that they could live better lives. Mary and Joseph wanted to obey God's law. God wants Christians to obey Him, too. We can read the New Testament and learn what God wants us to do. In Matthew 22:37 Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind.” In Philippians 4:6 Paul said, “Don't worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.” If we do these things, we are obeying God. Mary obeyed God. I hope that you want to obey God, too. —JK “Joseph and Mary finished doing all the things that the law of the Lord commanded.
