Ready to Help Us
Bible Reading: Psalm 46:1-11
Monday, May 26, 2014
When we have a close relationship with another person, we may want to be with them all the time. But usually that is not possible. A child may want to always have his mother close by to help him, but there will be times when he will be separated from his mother. God is the only one who can be with us every minute of every day. Verse 1 of our Bible Reading describes what God is like. “God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble.” One way to imagine this relationship with God is to think about Him as our shepherd. A shepherd is always close to his sheep. He is there to help them and keep them out of danger. A good shepherd provides food and water for his sheep. God provides for us and protects us, too. Thank God today for being your shepherd and for always being ready to help you! —LL “God says...’I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.’ The Lord All-Powerful is with us.” Psalm 46:10-11a
PRAYER: Thank You, God, for always being ready to help me. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
