希西家
聖經閱讀：列王記下20:1-11 現代中譯本|合和本

當我在說明希西家是猶大的國王時，我兩歲的雙胞胎女兒專注地看著我。今天閱讀的經文告訴我們，希西家王生病了，而且幾乎死去，然後先知以賽亞向希西家轉答上帝的信息，祂說：「你不會康復；你準備後事吧。」(第1b節) 　希西家感到很難過，不禁痛哭起來並且向上帝禱告。希西家哭求上帝醫治他，而上帝也垂聽了希西家的禱告並且醫治了他，祂甚至賜給希西家一個特別的徵兆，讓他知道會被醫治；上帝讓希西家的日影倒退十步。(第11節) 　希西家王有一個嚴重的問題──他病得很嚴重。也許你今天也有一個嚴重的問題，也許你生病了，或者你有財務上的問題，或是你心愛的人去世了。你可以跟希西家王一樣，向上帝禱告並求祂幫助你，祂也許不會照你所想要的方式回應你，但上帝是充滿智慧的，祂永遠知道什麼是對你最好的。 　我要鼓勵你為你的問題向上帝禱告，上帝會照顧你！—PN* 「上主啊，求你記得我始終忠誠，一心一意事奉你，做了你認為對的事。」 列王記下20:3a 禱告：親愛的上帝，謝謝祢總是回應我的禱告。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (EHI譯/台南聖教會英語團契)

Hezekiah

My twin two-year-old daughters carefully watch me as I explain Hezekiah was a king of Judah. Our Bible Reading for today tells us that he became sick and almost died. The prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah God’s message: “You will die soon...You will not get well” (verse 1b). 　Hezekiah was very upset. He cried, and he prayed to God. Hezekiah asked God to heal him. God listened to Hezekiah’s prayer and healed him. God even gave Hezekiah a special sign to let him know that he would be healed. God made Hezekiah’s shadow go back ten steps (verse 11). 　Hezekiah had a serious problem — he was very sick. Maybe you have a serious problem today, too. Maybe you are ill or have financial problems or someone you love has died. You can do what Hezekiah did. You can pray and ask God to help you. He may not answer your prayer the way you want. But God is wise, and He always knows what is best for you. 　I encourage you to pray about your problems.
