如果你住在愛荷華州，在夏天時你會經歷許多很棒的事，但是有一件壞事可能會發生在愛荷華州──龍捲風！很多人都曾經親眼看過龍捲風造成的嚴重破壞。龍捲風讓我們看見上帝的大能。 　在今天閱讀的經文中，我們讀到關於上帝的先知以利亞的事蹟。他愛上帝並服事上帝很多年，然後上帝為以利亞做了一件特別的事。以利亞並沒有經歷死亡，上帝反而接他到天上，第11節說：「他們一面走一面談。忽然，一輛火馬拉著的火焰車來到他們中間，以利亞在一陣旋風中被接到天上去了。」這「旋風」可能就像是龍捲風，上帝在興起那一陣旋風時顯出了祂的大能並接以利亞到天上去。 　上帝是大有能力的，我們可以倚靠祂來管理宇宙萬物。如果上帝可以創造世界並看顧它，祂也同樣可以看顧你。今天就因著上帝的奇妙大能感謝祂！ —JK 「你們要宣佈上帝的大能；他的威嚴凌駕以色列；他的能力彌漫雲霄。」 詩篇68:34 禱告：天父，謝謝祢看顧我。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (尤榮輝譯)

Tornadoes

If you live in Iowa, in the summer you will experience many nice things. But one bad thing can happen in Iowa — a tornado! Many people have witnessed the terrible destruction of tornadoes and strong winds. Tornadoes show us God’s great power. 　In our Bible verses, we read about God’s prophet, Elijah. He loved God and served Him for many years. Then God did something special for Elijah. Elijah did not have to die. Instead God took Him to heaven. Verse 11 says, “Elijah and Elisha were walking and talking together. Suddenly, some horses and a chariot came and separated Elijah from Elisha...Then Elijah was carried up into heaven in a whirlwind.” This whirlwind may have been something like a tornado. God showed His great power when He made the whirlwind and took Elijah to heaven. 　God is powerful, and we can depend on Him to control the universe. If God can make the world and take care of it, He can take care of you, too. Thank Him today for His amazing power! —JK “Tell everyone how powerful he is! He rules over Israel.
