忠心事奉上帝

我先生跟兒子看很多電視播出的球賽，我觀察到常常一支球隊在連敗幾場後就會贏得一場比賽。他們不放棄、繼續比賽是有幫助的。 　現實生活中人們常常放棄，有些人在學校成績落後就不再上學了；有些人創業，一遇到困難就放棄了。今天閱讀的經文中，保羅鼓勵提摩太要忠心事奉上帝、不要放棄。 　保羅以他自己為例，在第6節，保羅說：「至於我，我犧牲自己的時候到了；現在就是我離開人世的時刻。那值得競爭的賽跑，我已經跑過；該跑的全程，我已經跑完；該守的信仰，我已經守住」（第6和第7節）。然後保羅說，因為他忠心事奉上帝，一個獎賞正等著他──「從今以後，有公義的華冠等著我，就是那以公義施行審判的主在基督再來的日子要賜給我的」（第8a節）。 　你要持續閱讀上帝的話語、禱告並去幫助別人，今天也要繼續忠心事奉上帝！ —ECW 「做傳道人應做的工作，忠心履行你事奉的職務。」 提摩太後書4:5b 禱告：上帝，我願學像保羅，天天忠心事奉祢。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (尤榮輝譯)

My husband and my son watch a lot of games on TV. I have noticed that often a team will win a game after they have lost several games. It is good that they kept on playing and did not give up. 　Often in life people give up. They get behind in school so they quit going to school. Or they start a new business and give up when it becomes difficult. In our Bible Reading today, Paul encourages Timothy to serve God faithfully and not give up. 　Paul uses himself as an example. Paul says in verse 6, “My life is being given as an offering for God. The time has come for me to leave this life here. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have served the Lord faithfully” (verses 6 and 7). Then Paul said that because he served God faithfully, a prize was waiting for him — “the crown that will show I am right with God” (verse 8a). 　Keep reading God’s Word, praying and helping others. Continue faithfully serving God today! —ECW “Do the work of telling the Good News.
