露易莎史德（1850-1917）、她的丈夫和女兒正在紐約長島的一處海灘上，他們聽到一個就要溺水的孩子的哭聲，露易莎的丈夫嘗試去救那個孩子，但是他和那個孩子兩個人都被捲入海中、溺死了。 　露易莎和女兒在意外發生後經歷了一段艱難的時間，她們很貧窮，但她們信靠上帝來照顧她們。有一天早上，她們已經沒錢，也沒東西可吃了，露易莎打開前門竟然發現有一些錢和食物就放在台階上！那天，露易莎寫下了這句歌詞：「信靠耶穌何其甘甜。」這首歌的歌詞讓我們看見露易莎極大的信心：「何等喜樂，我能信祢，至寶耶穌，我救主…如此恩典能更信靠祂。」 　在今天閱讀的經文中，耶穌用話語安慰祂的門徒，祂在第1節告訴他們：「你們心裡不要愁煩；要信上帝，也要信我。」不論今天發生甚麼事情，要信靠上帝和祂的話語。 —BH 「耶穌說：『我就是道路、真理、生命；要不是藉著我，沒有人能到父親那裏去。』」 約翰福音14:6 禱告：親愛天父，我知道我可以天天信靠祢，謝謝祢總是看顧我。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (王熙瑤譯)

Louisa Stead (1850-1917), her husband and her young daughter were visiting a beach at Long Island, NY. They heard the cries of a child who was drowning. Louisa's husband tried to save the child, but both he and the child were pulled under the water and drowned. 　Louisa and her daughter had a hard time surviving after that. They were very poor, but they depended on God to take care of them. One morning they had no money or food. Louisa opened the front door and found some money and food on their doorstep. That day, Louisa wrote the words to the hymn, “‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.” The words of that song show us Louisa's great faith. “I'm so glad I learned to trust Him, Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend...O for grace to trust Him more.” 　In our Bible Reading, Jesus shared words of comfort with His disciples. He told them in verse 1, “Don't be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me.” No matter what happens today, depend on God and His Word. —BH “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.'” John 14:6 PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I can trust You every day. Thank You for always taking care of me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
