明天是許多基督徒所謂的「棕樹主日」（耶穌受難主日）。在這一天，他們回想耶穌當時像一個君王騎著驢子進耶路撒冷的情形。今天的經文告訴我們，耶穌借了一匹驢子，祂騎著牠進耶路撒冷。耶穌不僅是以色列的王，同時也是宇宙萬有的君王，祂其實可以坐在用駿馬拖曳的黃金馬車上進城，但祂沒有，祂反倒謙卑自己，只騎一匹驢子。 之後，耶穌返回天上，現在祂坐在上帝的右邊。耶穌配得一切的尊貴和榮耀，但是祂卻留給我們一個美好的謙卑榜樣，希望我們「不要自私自利，不要貪圖虛名，要彼此謙讓，看別人比自己高明。」（腓立比書2:3） 在下一週，請想想耶穌和祂的受死，回想祂在十架上為你所成就的事，然後謙卑自己，讚美祂並感謝祂。 —DJH* 「所以，你們要在上帝大能的手下謙卑，這樣，他會在適當的時機提升你們。 要把一切憂慮都卸給他，因為他關心你們。」 彼得前書5:6-7

Jesus, the King

Tomorrow is a day many Christians call “Palm Sunday.” On this day they remember the time when Jesus rode into Jerusalem like a king. Our Bible verses today tell us that Jesus borrowed a young donkey. He sat on it and rode it into Jerusalem. Jesus was the King of Israel and the King of the entire universe. He could have ridden a golden chariot with fancy horses. Instead, Jesus was humble and rode a donkey. Later, Jesus returned to heaven. Now He sits at the right hand of God. Jesus has all the glory and honor He deserves. But He left us a wonderful example of humility. “In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3). This coming week, think about Jesus and His death. Remember what He did for you on the cross. Then be humble, praise Him and thank Him. —DJH* “So be humble under God’s powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to be humble so I can be like Jesus. In His name. Amen. |
