A Surprise for Saul
Bible Reading: Acts 9:1-20
Thursday, June 19, 2014
Our verses today tell us about Saul. He hated people who followed Jesus. He even threatened to arrest them and kill them. Saul thought that he was obeying God, but one day Saul got a big surprise! Saul was traveling to Damascus to arrest Christians. “...a very bright light from heaven suddenly shined around him” (verse 3b). This light blinded Saul, and he fell to the ground. A voice said to Saul (verse 4b), “Saul, Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” Saul asked who was talking to him. The voice answered, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting” (verse 5b). The men traveling with Saul led him into Damascus where a man named Ananias prayed for Saul and helped him see again. After this, Saul believed in Jesus. Everywhere he went, he told people, “Jesus is the Son of God” (verse 20b). I am glad that Saul believed in Jesus and told other people about Him. I hope you will tell people about Jesus, too. —DJH* “...Saul became more and more powerful in proving that Jesus is the Messiah.” Acts 9:22a
PRAYER: Father, I want to share Jesus with people I meet today. In His name. Amen. |
