昨天我們談到和上帝共享永生的盼望，聖經明確地告訴我們，我們如何才能擁有與上帝永遠同住的盼望，但是聖經並沒有告訴我們，到底哪一天這個盼望才會被實現。我們並不知道哪一天我們會死去，也不知道哪一天耶穌會再回來帶祂的信徒去跟祂同住。 　在今天閱讀的經文中，我們知道一些關於耶穌再來的事情。第9節說，上帝並不會遲遲不差派耶穌再來，上帝是包容人的。為什麼這麼說呢？因為祂想要給每個人有跟隨和遵從祂的機會。 　這些經節同時也告訴我們，當我們在等待耶穌時，我們應該如何活。「你們應該過著聖潔、虔誠的生活，等候上帝的日子，竭力加速它的臨到。」（第11b-12a節）　 　當耶穌將要回來時，不要花時間懷疑，反而要專注於服事祂，並且藉著耶穌來期待你的盼望。—BH 「但是，主再來的日子就像小偷忽然來到一樣。」 彼得後書3:10a 禱告：親愛的主，當我耐心等候耶穌再來時，我服事祢。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (EHI譯/台南聖教會英語團契)

Hope: When?

Yesterday we talked about our hope of eternal life with God. The Bible clearly tells us how we can have the hope of living forever with Him. But the Bible does not tell us the exact date when that hope will be fulfilled. We do not know the day we will die or the day when Jesus will return to take His followers to live with Him. 　In our Bible Reading today we learn some things about Jesus’ return. Verse 9 says that God is not being slow in sending Jesus. God is being patient. Why? Because He wants to give everyone the opportunity to follow and obey Him. 　These verses also tell us how we should live while we are waiting for Jesus. “Your lives should be holy and devoted to God. You should be looking forward to the day of God, wanting more than anything else for it to come soon” (verses 11b-12a). 　Don’t spend your time wondering when Jesus will return. Instead focus on serving Him and looking forward to your hope through Jesus. —BH “But the day when the Lord comes again will surprise everyone like the coming of a thief.”　2 Peter 3:10a PRAYER: Dear Lord, I serve You as I wait patiently for Jesus to return.
