盼望：為什麼？

也許你想知道為什麼上帝要賜給我們永生的盼望，或者你想知道為什麼上帝要讓祂的兒子──耶穌死在十字架上。今天我們閱讀的經文幫助我們了解為什麼上帝要做這些事。 　約翰福音3:16是很多人都能背的經節，我們能明白這節經文的意思是重要的。這節經文告訴我們為什麼上帝要差派耶穌在世上生活並且死在十字架上。 　這節經文的起頭說：「上帝那麼愛世人」，這句話是說上帝愛你和我。而上帝因著祂的愛做了什麼呢？祂「賜下他的獨子」。上帝為什麼要這麼做呢？祂「要使所有信他的人不致滅亡，反得永恆的生命。」 　在約翰福音11:25-26a，耶穌說：「我就是復活，就是生命。信我的人，雖然死了，仍然要活著；活著信我的人一定永遠不死。」因著祂偉大的愛，以及藉著耶穌而賜下的救恩禮物，今天就讚美上帝。 —BH 「因為上帝差遣他的兒子到世上來，不是要定世人的罪，而是要藉著他來拯救世人。」 約翰福音3:17 禱告：主，因祢深深愛我而差派耶穌受死，我內心充滿感激。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (EHI譯/台南聖教會英語團契)

Maybe you wonder why God gives us hope for eternal life. Or you wonder why God would allow His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Our Bible Reading today helps us understand why God did these things. 　John 3:16 is a verse that many people memorize. It is important that we understand this verse. This verse tells us why God sent Jesus to live on the earth and die on the cross. 　The first part of this verse says, “God loved the world so much.” This means God loves you and me. And what did God do because of His love? “He gave his only Son.” Why did God do this? “So that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.” 　In John 11:25-26a Jesus said, “I am the resurrection. I am life. Everyone who believes in me will have life, even if they die. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never really die.” Praise God today for His great love and gift of salvation through Jesus! —BH “God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17 PRAYER: Lord, I am so thankful that You loved me enough to send Jesus to die. In His name. Amen.
