Bible Reading: Luke 2:1-20
Saturday, December 5, 2015
Our Bible Reading today is the same as we read two days ago. These verses remind us that Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem must have been a time of uncertainty. Probably Mary and Joseph didn't know what to expect when they arrived in Bethlehem. They found that “the guest room was full” (verse 7b), so baby Jesus was born and laid “in a box where cattle are fed” (verse 7a). Maybe Mary and Joseph were surprised when the shepherds came to worship Jesus. But through all this, Mary and Joseph had hope in God's plans for them and for His Son, Jesus. Sometimes we face things that are difficult and painful. We may not understand why God is allowing these things to happen to us. But just like Mary and Joseph, we can have hope in God's plan for our lives. God took care of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. God will take care of you today, too! —BH “I pray that God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
PRAYER: Lord, I have hope in Your promises about my life. Thank You! In Jesus' name. Amen. |
