伊利莎白和馬利亞是表姊妹，當伊利莎白肚子裡懷著約翰有六個月的身孕時，馬利亞前去探望她。在馬利亞問候伊利莎白時，她被聖靈充滿，伊利莎白感覺到肚子裡的胎兒歡喜跳動著！於是伊利莎白知道主已經賜福馬利亞了。馬利亞才剛剛透過聖靈的能力懷了耶穌，今天經文閱讀的第43節，伊利莎白跟馬利亞說：「我主的母親前來探望我，我怎麼敢當呢？」因為伊利莎白被聖靈充滿，所以她知道馬利亞懷了主耶穌。 聖誕節時，我們常常唱「這位奇妙嬰孩是誰？」這首歌，其中一節歌詞說：「來！來！歡呼擁戴；馬利亞懷中嬰孩！」這首歌提醒我們要記住上帝的兒子降生為嬰孩的喜樂和奇妙。 在這個美好的季節裡，就讓我們歡喜跳躍來慶祝耶穌基督的降生！ —JB* 「我一聽見你問安的聲音，我腹中的胎兒就歡喜跳躍。」 路加福音1:44

Elizabeth and Mary were cousins. When Elizabeth was six months pregnant with John, Mary went to visit her. When Mary greeted Elizabeth, she was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth felt the baby inside her womb jump with joy! Then Elizabeth knew the Lord had blessed Mary. Mary had just become pregnant with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. In verse 43 of our Bible Reading, Elizabeth said to Mary, “You are the mother of my Lord, and you have come to me! Why has something so good happened to me?” Because Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, she knew that Mary was pregnant with the Lord Jesus. The song “What Child is This?” is often sung during Christmastime. One verse says, “Joy, joy for Christ is born, the Babe, the Son of Mary.” This song reminds us to remember the joy and wonder at God's Son being born as a baby. During this wonderful season, let us jump for joy as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! —JB* “When I heard your voice, the baby inside me jumped with joy.” Luke 1:44
