聖誕節有一首非常受歡迎的詩歌是「普世歡騰」，今天我們經文閱讀的第4節說：「普天下要向上主歡呼歌唱；要用詩歌高聲頌讚他。」我是一個聾人，我知道要了解音樂和歌唱是一件困難的事。詩篇常常提到「歌唱」並「用音樂頌讚主」，這告訴我上帝喜歡聽我們用詩歌讚美祂。唱歌是基督徒敬拜上帝的方式之一。 當我們覺得陌生時，要如何用歌聲頌讚主呢？以弗所書5:19 這樣說：「要用詩篇、聖詩、靈歌對唱；要從心底發出音樂，頌讚主，向他歌唱。」當我們用手語敬拜主時，可以懇求上帝用音樂充滿我們的心！ 人們想到耶穌的誕生時，總會分享充滿喜樂的頌讚，在這個聖誕的節期中，當我們在慶祝上帝愛子的降生時，就讓上帝用喜樂和歌聲充滿你的心。 —JB* 「我歌頌你的時候，我的嘴唇和你所贖我的靈魂都必歡呼。」 詩篇71:23

Joy to the World (1)

One of the most popular songs people sing at Christmas is “Joy to the World.” Verse 4 of our Bible Reading today says, “Everyone on earth, shout with joy to the Lord. Start singing happy songs of praise!” I am a deaf person so I know it can be difficult to understand music and singing. The book of Psalms often talks about “singing” and “making music to the Lord.” That tells me God enjoys listening to our songs of praise. Singing is one way Christians worship God. So how can we sing to the Lord when it feels strange? Ephesians 5:19 says, “Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.” We can ask God to fill our hearts with music while we sign praises to the Lord in worship! People have always shared joyful praises when they think about the birth of Jesus. During this Christmas season, allow God to fill your heart with joy and song while you celebrate the birth of His Son. —JB* “I will shout for joy, singing songs of praise to you for saving me.” Psalm 71:23
