保持聖潔

在今天的經文中，彼得鼓勵基督徒要審視自己的生命並保持聖潔。在第11b節，彼得說：「你們應該作哪一種人呢？你們應該過著聖潔、虔誠的生活。」 　身為基督徒，我們必須確保過著聖潔的生活，但是我們要如何辦到呢？如果我們想要成為聖潔，就必須是真誠的、認真的、無私的、寬容的，以及忠心的。當我們對別人、也對自己誠實時，我們就是真誠的。「認真」的意思是，我們會時時儆醒，這樣才可以擊退魔鬼的攻擊。當我們專注於別人而不是自己時，我們就是無私的。 　我們也應該是寬容的；我們必須對人寬容，同時也要耐心等候耶穌的再來。最後，我們應該要對耶穌保持忠心，並繼續引導人認識祂。 　如果我們是聖潔的，我們就會更明白上帝的愛，然後就會想要去跟其他人分享祂的愛，而上帝也將會報答我們的忠心。 —JS* 「他寬容你們；因為他不願意有一個人沉淪，卻要人人悔改。」 彼得後書3:9b 禱告：天父，我願為祢過聖潔的生活。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (尤榮輝譯)

Be Holy

In our Bible verses today, Peter encouraged Christians to examine their lives and to be holy. In verse 11b Peter said, “So what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and devoted to God.” 　As Christians, we need to make sure that we are living holy lives. But how can we do that? If we want to be holy, we need to be sincere, sober, unselfish, patient and faithful. We are sincere when we are honest with others and with ourselves. Being sober means that we will be alert so we can fight off the devil’s attacks. We are unselfish when we focus on other people instead of ourselves. 　We should also be patient. We need to be patient with other people as well as being patient for Jesus to come back. Finally, we should stay faithful to Jesus and continue to teach others about Him. 　If we are holy, we will understand more about God’s love. Then we will want to share it with other people. And, God will reward us for our faithfulness. —JS* “But God is being patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be lost.
