The Power of Prayer
Bible Reading: James 5:13-16
Thursday, April 4, 2013
I believe in the power of prayer. I have seen God answer prayers in my own life and in the lives of my family and friends. In our Bible Reading today, James talks about praying for sick people. I know that these words are true, and I have experienced it in my own life. But I am still amazed each time I see God answer the prayers of His people in a wonderful and miraculous way. Shortly after my niece’s car accident, more than 200 people gathered outside the hospital to pray for her. News about her accident quickly spread. Within hours, hundreds of people across the United States and in other countries were praying for her. That same night, we thought she might die. But suddenly her body stabilized. My niece was not immediately healed, but we could feel these prayers during her recovery. Prayer is the best thing we can do for others. God works through prayer. —JKS “Then pray for each other. Do this so that God can heal you. Anyone who lives the way God wants can pray, and great things will happen.” James 5:16b
PRAYER: God, thank You for answering our prayers. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
