希伯來書11:32列出了幾位在舊約時代的信心偉人，其中的一位是基甸。上帝揀選基甸來領導以色列人抵擋他們的敵人──米甸人的攻擊。起初，基甸並不確定他就是這個任務最適合的人選，但是上帝耐心等候基甸，並且告訴基甸，他就是要來帶領以色列人的最好人選。 結局是，基甸只有300個人，他們包圍米甸人的營地、吹號角、並擊碎手中的瓶子，然後上帝迷惑了米甸人，讓他們自相砍殺。是上帝將勝利給了以色列人。 基甸相信上帝會幫助他打敗米甸人，我們也應該相信上帝會幫助我們抵擋魔鬼和魔鬼要我們做的壞事。 —JK 「聽了那個人的夢和解釋以後，基甸就跪下來敬拜上帝。他回到以色列營裏，對他們說：『起來！上主把米甸軍隊交在你們手裏了！』」 士師記7:15

Hebrews 11:32 lists several Old Testament people who had faith in God. One of these people is Gideon. God chose Gideon to lead the Israelites against their enemies, the Midianites. At first, Gideon was not sure he was the right man for the job. But God was patient with Gideon and showed him that He was the best person to lead the Israelites. In the end, Gideon only had an army of 300 men. These men surrounded the Midianite camp, blew trumpets and smashed jars. Then God caused the Midianites to be confused and to “kill each other with their swords” (verse 22b). God provided the victory for the Israelites. Gideon had faith that God would help him defeat the Midianites. We should have faith that God will help us resist the devil and the bad things he wants us to do. —JK “After he heard the men talking about the dream and what it meant, Gideon bowed down to God. Then Gideon went back to the camp of the Israelites and called to the people, ‘Get up! The Lord will help us defeat the Midianites.’” Judges 7:15
