Death
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
Thursday, June 11, 2015
Some people have said that there are two things we all must face on earth — death and taxes. Most of us do not enjoy paying taxes. And many people are afraid of dying. As Christians, we are saved from spiritual death and separation from God. When Jesus rose from the grave, He conquered the power of death. And we can choose to follow Him and live forever with Him. In our Bible Reading today, Paul reminded the Christians in Corinth that “this body that dies will clothe itself with that which never dies” (verse 54b). Then Paul quoted two prophets, Isaiah and Hosea. “Death is swallowed in victory. O death, where is your victory? Where is your power to hurt?” Through Jesus, we can have victory over death. Thank God today for including you in His wonderful plan of salvation! —WA “Death’s power to hurt is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But we thank God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” 1 Corinthians 15:56-57
PRAYER: Dear Father, thank You for saving me and giving me victory over death. I want to stand strong for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
