當我們許下承諾時，我們一定要信守承諾；當無法信守承諾時，我們會感到不舒服，也會讓別人難過。我們是人，有時候也會違背諾言，然而當上帝賜下應許時，祂就會永遠持守祂的應許。知道這個真是很棒！ 　在今天閱讀的經文中，上帝賜給亞伯蘭一個應許，上帝告訴亞伯蘭，他會有一個兒子，而且他的「後代要跟星星一樣多」（第5b節）。第6節告訴我們，「亞伯蘭信上主，上主就認他為義人。」 　當我們跟隨並且順服上帝時，我們就活出上帝希望的方式；上帝希望我們信任祂，並且相信祂和祂的應許。我們應該學像亞伯蘭「沒有失去信心，也沒有懷疑上帝的應許；他的信心反而更堅固，把榮耀歸給上帝」（羅馬書4:20）。 —MS 「由於信心，雖然莎拉不孕，也過了生育的年齡，她仍然得到生育的能力，因為她相信上帝會持守他的應許。」 希伯來書11:11 禱告：上帝，我相信祢的應許，求祢幫助我對祢的信心成長堅強。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (王熙瑤譯)

When we make a promise, we should be sure to keep that promise. When we don't keep a promise, we feel bad and make other people sad. We are human, and sometimes we break our promises. But it is good to know that when God makes a promise, He always keeps it! 　In our Bible verses, God made a promise to Abram. God told Abram that he would have a son and his family would be “so many you cannot count them” (verse 5b). Verse 6 tells us “Abram believed the Lord, and because of this faith the Lord accepted him as one who has done what is right.” 　When we follow and obey God, we live the way God wants us to live. He wants us to trust Him and have faith in Him and His promises. We should be like Abram who “never doubted that God would do what he promised. He never stopped believing. In fact, he grew stronger in his faith and just pleased God” (Romans 4:20). —MS “Sarah was not able to have children, and Abraham was too old.
