Bible Mysteries (1)
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:6-10
Sunday, April 19, 2015
Most people love mysteries. They love to learn about mysteries and discover their meaning. Did you know that the Bible talks about mysteries? In this series of devotions, we will learn about these mysteries and what they mean. The English word “mystery” comes from the Greek word mysterion. The men who wrote the New Testament used this word to talk about a great truth that had been hidden but was now being revealed by God. These mysteries were hidden for a long time, but finally God explained them. Sometimes in the New Testament the word mysterion is translated as “mystery,” “a secret” or as “a hidden meaning.” Our Bible verses today teach us about God’s secret wisdom that had been hidden. Through the New Testament writers, God revealed this secret wisdom to all of us. All the Bible mysteries are important to discover. Read them and thank God that you can learn about His plan for your life. —HLN “But we speak God’s secret wisdom that has been hidden from everyone until now...He planned it before the world began.” 1 Corinthians 2:7a
PRAYER: Lord, teach us how we can serve You today. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
