Correction
Bible Reading: Psalm 141:1-10
Saturday, November 3, 2012
Most people do not like to have people correct them or criticize their actions. And most of us feel uncomfortable when we need to correct someone else. But in our Bible Reading today, David asked God to show him what he was doing wrong. David also said that when people correct us, that is a good thing. In verses 3-4 David prayed, “Lord, help me control the things I say. Help me watch what I say. Don’t let me want to do bad things. Stop me from joining bad people when they do wrong.” That should be our prayer, too. We need God’s help every day so we can control what we say/sign, think and do. Ask God to help you say/sign things that are good and helpful to other people. And when other people correct you, ask God to help you be humble and willing to accept their correction. —JKS “A good person can correct me. That would be kind of him. Your followers can criticize me. It would be good for them to do that. I would accept that.” Psalm 141:5a
PRAYER: God, thank You for paying attention to my prayers. Help me to control what I do and be willing to accept correction from good people. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
