保羅談到的上帝全副軍裝中的第一件是真理的腰帶（第14節）。在聖經記載的年代裡，軍人都會在腰間繫上腰帶，這條腰帶用來固定衣服，好讓他們在打仗的時候衣服不要亂成一團。現今，人們繫腰帶是為了讓褲子緊貼他們的腰。如果我們繫上上帝真理的腰帶，我們就能始終持守上帝的真理。我們從上帝的話語，也就是聖經，學到真理，當魔鬼欺騙我們的時候，我們就能夠知道什麼是真的、什麼是假的。 同時，如果我們擁有上帝真理的腰帶，我們就能記得應該永遠說真話。當我們說真話時，人們才會信任我們，並且在我們向他們分享耶穌的福音時，人們才會留心聆聽我們的話。 今天就繫上上帝真理的腰帶，研讀上帝的話語，學習如何跟從耶穌，並靠上帝的話語堅強站立、抵擋魔鬼。 —CE 「至於那些不值一談的荒唐傳說都應該避免；要為著敬虔的生活鍛鍊自己。」 提摩太前書4:7

God's Armor (2)

The first piece of God's armor that Paul mentions is the belt of truth (verse 14). In Bible times, a soldier wore a belt around his waist. This belt held his clothing together so that it did not become tangled while he was fighting. Today people wear belts to hold their pants snug around their waist. If we wear God’s belt of truth, we will keep the truth about God with us all the time. We learn that truth from God's Word, the Bible. Then when the devil lies to us, we will be able to know what is true and what is false. Also, if we have God’s belt of truth, we remember that we should always tell the truth. When we tell the truth, people will trust us and pay attention to us when we share the Good News about Jesus with them. Wear God’s belt of truth today. Study God’s Word and learn how to follow Jesus. Use God's Word to stand strong against the devil. —CE “People tell silly stories that don’t agree with God's truth. Don’t follow what these stories teach. But teach yourself to be devoted to God.” 1 Timothy 4:7
