耶穌的生平 (6)

　有時候我們知道必須為上帝做某件事，但不確定自己是不是真的願意這麼做，也許你以前有過這樣的感覺。
耶穌知道上帝希望祂死在十架上，但是祂人類的本性卻想要避免這個痛苦、折磨和羞辱，所以在今天的經文閱讀中，耶穌求問上帝：「我的父親哪，若是可以，求你不要讓我喝這苦杯！」（第39a節）耶穌這時是在求問上帝，是不是有其他順服祂的方式，但是耶穌接著說：「可是，不要照我的意思，只要照你的旨意」（第39b節）。
當不想要為上帝做某件事時，我們可以求問祂是不是有其他方式來服事祂？也許上帝會向我們顯明另一種方式，也許祂會保持沉默。上帝的沉默表示沒有其他方式了，上帝期待我們順服祂、接受祂的旨意。
耶穌是我們跟隨上帝最好的榜樣，今天就卑謙地服事並順服上帝！ —PD*

Sometimes we know that we need to do something for God, but we are not sure we want to do it. Maybe you have felt that way before.
Jesus knew God wanted Him to die on the cross. But His human nature wanted to avoid the pain, suffering and humiliation. So in our Bible verses Jesus asked God, “My Father, if it is possible, don’t make me drink from this cup” (verse 39b). Jesus was asking God if there was another way He could obey Him. But then Jesus added, “But do what you want, not what I want” (verse 39b).
When we want to avoid doing something for God, we may ask Him if there is another way to serve Him. Maybe God will show us another way or maybe He will be silent. God's silence means that there is no other way. God expects us to obey Him and accept His will.
Jesus is our perfect example of how we should follow God. Humbly serve and obey God today! —PD*
