上帝的應許

愛荷華的秋天已經到了，晚上變冷、樹葉開始變色。
我在愛荷華長大，一直都有很棒的秋天時光，但是我住在紐約州北部已經有18年之久，那裡的樹在秋天有更多顏色變化。現在我回到愛荷華州，我有時候會抱怨這裡的樹沒有像紐約那麼漂亮，但是我必須提醒自己，真正美好的東西不是顏色，而是四季不斷變化這件事──就如同上帝應許的那樣。
今天經文閱讀的第22節告訴我們，挪亞和他的家人離開船後，上帝告訴挪亞，「只要大地存留一天，地上一定有播種，有收穫；有寒暑、冬夏，和日夜。」我們可以知道季節會變化，因為上帝應許了這件事！
上帝還應許了耶穌會再來，我們也可以倚靠這個應許！ —JK

　Fall has arrived here in Iowa. The nights are cooler and the trees are beginning to change their colors.
I grew up in Iowa and have always loved fall time. But I lived in upstate New York for 18 years. The trees there have so much more color in the fall. Now that I am back in Iowa, I sometimes complain that the trees here are not as pretty as those in New York. But I need to remind myself that the truly wonderful thing is not the colors, but the fact that the seasons always change — just as God promised.
Verse 22 of our Bible Reading tells us that after Noah and his family left the boat, God told Noah, “As long as the earth continues, there will always be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night on earth.” We can know that the seasons will change because God promised it!
God has also promised that Jesus will come again. We can depend on that promise, too! —JK

PRAYER: Father, thank You for always keeping Your promises. In Jesus' name. Amen.
