Jesus Cares
Bible Reading: Mark 6:30-44
Thursday, February 4, 2016
Frank E. Graeff lived in the early 1900s. He was known as the “sunshine minister” because he was so kind to everyone. He wrote many hymns and a book.
In one hymn, Mr. Graeff wrote these words, “Oh, yes He cares. I know He cares. His heart is touched with my grief...I know my Savior cares.” These words remind us that Jesus truly cares about us.
Our Bible Reading tells us that Jesus and His followers were very busy and needed to rest. So Jesus got into a boat and led his followers to a quiet place. But many people still followed Jesus. When he got out of the boat, there was a crowd of people waiting for Him.
Did Jesus get mad and send the people away? No! “He felt sorry for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd to care for them” (verse 34b). Jesus cared so much for these people that later He fed them.
It is wonderful to know that Jesus loves us and cares for us. He will take care of you today! —BH
“When Jesus got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd of people. He felt sorry for them, and he healed the ones who were sick.”
Matthew 14:14
PRAYER: God, thank You that Jesus loves me and was willing to die for me. In His name. Amen.
