聖幕中的第一件擺設是燈臺，它是用75磅重的純金打造，用來照亮聖幕。燈臺上有花萼和花瓣的裝飾。 　有時候人們說這個燈臺是一盞金燭臺，而事實上這個燈臺上有七盞油燈，燈裡面燒著橄欖油。修剪燈芯、添油，讓燭火一直發光是祭司的職責。 　「光」在新約聖經裡也被提到很多次。在約翰福音8:12中，耶穌稱祂自己是「世界的光」，而在馬太福音5:14-16，耶穌說基督徒應該作這罪惡、黑暗世界的光。 　我希望你今天會成為別人的光，去向他們施展上帝的愛和美善。 —JK 「你們是世界的光。建造燭臺在山上的城是無法遮蓋起來的。……你們的光也該照在人面前，讓他們看見你們的好行為，來頌讚你們在天上的父親。」 馬太福音5:14-16 禱告：上帝，在這一天當中，我願去向人傳講祢和祢的兒子耶穌。奉耶穌的名，阿們！ (尤榮輝譯)

The first item of furniture in the Holy Place was the lampstand. It was made from 75 pounds of gold and provided light for the Holy Place. The lampstand was decorated with almond buds and petals. 　Sometimes people call this lampstand a golden candlestick. But really the lampstand held seven oil lamps. Olive oil was burned in these lamps. It was the duty of the priests to trim the wicks in the lamps, fill them with oil and keep them lit at all times. 　Light is mentioned many times in the New Testament, too. In John 8:12 Jesus called Himself “the light of the world.” And in Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus said that Christians should be “light” in the dark world of sin. 　I hope that you will be a light for other people today. Show them God’s love and goodness. —JK “You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden...You should be a light for other people.
